Jenny and Shawn's Engagement Slideshow
So I finally feel like I am getting the hang of the ShowitWeb slideshow software. It's been confusing at times, but I'm finally learning some of the ins and out, and how to work around some bugs. So here is Jenny and Shawn's engagement slideshow. Click on the picture to watch it! I think they look pretty awesome for a couple who claims to be so camera shy! If any of you have any ShowitWeb tips and tricks, drop a comment!

Jess and Jason's Wedding!
What a fantastic day it was spending it with Jess and Jason! Jess was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever seen. Things that would be considered wedding disasters to most hardly affected Jess' supremely pleasant mood. (The cake company forgot to give the whole cake!) The theme of the day seemed to be: 'have fun'. The Adam Sandler movie "The Wedding Singer" was playing in the background as the girls got their hair done while listening to Adam scream out the song, "Love Stinks"... LOL
The ceremony was beautiful and was at the Cochrane Ranchehouse... a great venue in a beautiful prairie landscape. The hugely backlit ceremony wreaked havoc on lighting, autofocus and lens flaring but I managed to survive. Crazy!! Here's the newly married couple leaving the ceremony! (They survived too!)
I was so impressed with Jess. It was NOT a warm day AT ALL. It was 6C (43F) and windy, which made it feel even COLDER! But she stuck it out for about an hour outside in her very pretty sleeveless dress! Whoa, seriously tough girl!
Did I say it was windy??? Haha
The reception was fun too, and was also at the Ranchehouse. The first wedding I've been to where there was SUSHI available! That was awesome! I would have SERIOUSLY pigged out if I weren't so busy taking pictures and putting together a slideshow quickly using Showit Effects.
All in all, I'd say the day was a WIN. Everyone was happy and had a great time. Jason and his groomsmen never failed to entertain with their great (and somewhat odd) sense of humour. ;)
Thanks again Jess and Jason for the great time, the patience with the cold weather, the laughs, the great food, and for giving me the honour of photographing your awesome day! I hope we can keep in touch!
Have a couple minutes? Check out the short wedding slideshow if you are so inclined! Let me know what you think!

Where did fall go?
It seems like summer just ended and fall was here:
And one night while we were sleeping...
...it turned to winter!
I woke up and here, for the first time this season, we had snow on the ground. Gosh, I swear it was only a couple weeks ago where I thought summer ended. Who knows, maybe it will get warm again before it's cold for good. Which reminds me, I need to get another set of winter tires for my car. I'm looking forward to driving in the winter snowcross racing events.

Erin and James' wedding!
Wow, what a blast Erin and James' wedding was! Aside from being such a great couple, they really knew how to have a great time and throw a great party! The party was from coast to coast... literally! Families were based in Vancouver and Newfoundland. And though the day was wild and fun, it was very CLASSY. The salon was classy, the hotel was classy, the ceremony was classy, and the reception was classy. Talk about some great venues!!!
Here is Erin getting ready in her classy hotel room at the Mettera Hotel on Whyte:

The ceremony was held at the Muttart Conservatory. Obviously a beautiful location that looks great ALL year 'round! The weather cooperated enough for us to take some outdoor pics too!
Erin... what can I say, you're awesome! She braved climbing up a soggy hill with her heels sinking and aerating the grass. =)
Reception at the upper floor of Von's. Wow, what a beautiful reception room! The decor was classy and intimate... perfect for hard partying Maritimers! LOL!
It was such a blast! I had such a great time! Thanks also to Leah and Ron, you guys were great to work with! Jean, thanks for hanging out and yaking with the camera guy, and Lindo, thanks for the fun conversations! (I hope you survived that football-sized yorkshire pudding! HAHA!) And thanks again to everyone else who made us feel so welcome!!!
Merry says:
Thanks to everyone for making this such a fun event. We truly had a blast & met some great people! Sheryl, thanks for making me your 'new friend for October' (to all others who tried out, sorry this spot has been taken) - I had a great time. Erin and James, you had a beautiful day, great wedding, and awesome party - and from what I heard, you deserved it and more.
Here is a link to a slideshow from the night. Check it out!

Thanks Kathryn and Andrew!
Kathryn and Andrew are awesome. They agreed to meet me at 9AM on a long weekend in -4 temps. And they were happy and lively when they arrived too! They also were great sports, walking through some slippery muddy trails. We had a lot of fun exploring the beautiful Edmonton river valley and got some great shots while we were at it!
Andrew commented that he should maybe quit engineering and take up modeling instead. Hey, why not! Your first shoot was a great success! Hahaha, thanks for all the laughs!
The slideshow for this engagement had to be completed asap as the wedding date is less than a month away and they need the photos for an announcement... so here it is:

See you again in November!

Thanks Mandy and Marty!
Spent a cold, windy afternoon with Mandy and Marty. Brave couple that they were, they went without their jackets for the most part. brrrr!
We tried to wait for wind gusts to get some flying leaves shots but it just wouldn't cooperate, so Merry decided to try to pick up some leaves and throw them herself. She provided great entertainment as she learned how difficult it was to nicely throw a clump of soaking wet leaves. LOL =)
Thanks Mandy and Marty, for toughing out the cold. Especially the 60km/h winds on the bridge!

COLD!
A couple days ago was the first time this season I went to a shoot and it was below freezing. Being greeted this morning by a nice layer of frost on the grass and leaves in my backyard reminded me of how cold your fingers can get while holding a metal camera.
But I am not sad.
I love seasons. I could never imagine living in a place that was always warm, or always cold. Well, it's time to go out and shoot!

4th photo!
Last week Merry and I got to hang out with Jenny and Shawn for an engagement shoot. They told me in the four years they've been together, they only had THREE pictures of them together! Camera shyness was their explanation, but I saw no reason why they should be. They were quick to be quite natural infront of the camera and we actually had some fun!
So thanks Jenny and Shawn, for the fun evening!

Te Amo
October 2. That is my anniversary. Our anniversary. Two years ago all my dreams came true when I married the most amazing woman in the world, otherwise known as Merry. Life has never been better and I enjoy each day we spend.
I think I enjoy being in the wedding business because my own wedding was a blast, and my marriage is the main source of all my happiness.
So just wanted to send out a thanks to you, Merry. I love you and I look forward to the next 50+ years.
(I hope you enjoyed your rose petal welcoming...)
