Stacey and Chris's wild wedding!

The first thing I thought when Stacey and Chris booked was, "Wow, they sure are brave to have a February wedding!" If you live in Alberta, then you'll know February has the most unpredictable weather of any month, and could easily be -35 degrees. Well, just our luck, the weather was beautiful! A balmy -6 degrees and clear(ish) skies!

The day started at Jerome's Salon on 17th in Calgary:

Then we cut over to meet the guys. They were all ready... the rest of the morning was about video games and beer. Here they are doing what they do best, clowning around:

The wedding was at Heritage Point golf club, south of Calgary. It was a beautiful ceremony.

One of the most amazing parts were the details! Snow was the theme and everything was decked out so beautifully by Stacey's sister and mom. It was awesome!

Stacey blew me away that night by VOLUNTEERING to take photos outside. The sun had fallen by then and it was likely around -15 with a breeze. My hands were SO cold I could BARELY press the shutter button to take a picture. Meanwhile, Stacey was fine and kept asking ME if I was ok. I don't feel so tough anymore... and I LIKE the cold! hahaha

The night was filled with many many laughs.

Here is their first dance as a married couple.

Stacey's mom, Susan, warned me that her entire family knows how to party. My goodness, she wasn't exaggerating. It was wild the entire night!

So thanks to both you guys! We had such a fun time hanging out all day! The wedding was beautiful, as were the details! (Great work Melissa and Susan!) Merry and I were amazed at how much energy, laughter, and fun ALL you guys carried with you. We thank you for the great times!

Ski trip!

Merry organized an awesome ski trip for my 30th birthday, and some other childhood friends who were also having a birthday around now. We stayed at the hidden ridge resort in banff! We all squeezed into the small chalet.

In addition to me, Kathy, Steve, and Sally were also celebrating birthdays:

I got to smash a Pinata that Jared brought that was full of hot wheels (as I'm a car and racing nut) and... umm... some other questionable joke items. (Can you identify the box?)

Merry and I, tired after a long ski day at Lake Louise:

The guys having a ummm.... bonding moment... lol

Day 2 comes around and we head to Sunshine. This time only 5 of us go, and Geoff joins the crowd. I was excited to bring my BRAND NEW camera, a little $175 Canon A540 point and shoot. Much easier to carry around than my regular rig.

There's Ron, navigating through the moguls and trees we frequented.

Geoff takes a jump:

Steve recovering from that same jump.. haha

Clem trying to pick up speed

Geoff running through some dead trees:

Very soon after these pictures, I wiped out and landed on my camera. Ouch! It lasted a whole 2 days! It's totally busted and won't even turn on. Next time you try to ski down a hill backwards while taking action pictures... don't. LOL

Email headaches

I am going through some troubles with my email provider at the moment. Please be patient over the next few days while they are working out kinks. I'm just one of thousands affected. If your emails to me are going unanswered or are getting bounced back, please send to my temporary email address: nightanddayphoto@shaw.ca

In particular, shaw.ca and hotmail.com addresses seem to be having problems mailing me. I apologize sincerely and will get back to you once they have resolved all problems.

thanks.

Julie and Anthony's Night Engagement Session

This was a unique e-session! As Julie and Anthony met each other while working at Cinescape in Eau Claire market in Calgary, they thought they'd go back there for a fun e-shoot. They played a whole bunch of games and won a Care Bear, a stuffed cow, chinese handcuffs, and what looked like a noise maker. Sure looked like fun! We then took to the streets in the cold winter night.

Julie and Anthony:
Wow, all I can say is, keeping up with you guys was a workout. You sure move around from game to game quickly! I can't believe how many tickets you won!

And thanks so much for braving the cold, windy night. It was tough but worth it. You're both so much fun and Merry and I can't wait to see you at your wedding!

Heather and Ryan's Downtown Engagement

Heather and Ryan are the lucky couple who snagged us for 07/07/07! We've only had about 10 billion calls about that date since, so we're really happy to be working with such an awesome couple.

The day started in Devonian Gardens in downtown because the weather forecast was cold. As it turns out, it was only a bit chilly but ok to go outside! So off we went to Stephen Ave. Both Heather and I love old architechture so it was the perfect place to go!

So thanks for driving all the way to downtown to meet up with us! Both Merry and I had a lot of fun hanging out with you guys! If we were thinking, we would have invited you for coffee right after to warm up. Oh well. And definitely let us know about the new bike! REALLY looking forward to 07/07/07! (And this time you won't need your coats!)
