Christmas in Calgary

Merry and I went to Calgary for Christmas to hang out with friends and family. Here are just a couple funny pics from the trip...

Here is Lauryn concentrating very intently, trying to figure out how many eggs we needed to make waffles:

This is Rhys. We gave him mitts and a touque. He's trying to figure out where on earth his fingers went.

And here is our niece Elizabeth (aka Lizabee) pushing her dad around on her tricycle. My parents have the hugest crawl space in their house which is awesome for bikes and big wheels!!

Hope you all had an awesome Christmas too!!

Beth, Jared, an e-shoot, and the Hotel Mac!

Got together with Beth and Jared for a super fun e-shoot at the beautiful Hotel Macdonald. Gosh I love this place!

We wanted a shot infront of the big fireplace, but this guy had parked himself infront of it and apparently had been there for hours. So we went outside, back inside, upstairs, and then some staff told us to go into one of the banquet rooms as there was nobody there. So we did. Why not? =)

Afterwards, we sat down in the lounge for refreshments and a chat. When we finally were getting ready to leave, Mr. Hog-the-fireplace finally left, but we were already done for the day. Oh well! hahaha

Going Ukrainian style with Anna and Jonathan!

I knew we would have a lot of fun at this wedding, as it was a fantastic blend of tradition and celebration. That and it actually wasn't sub zero, which is rare in Edmonton this time of year.

So we caught up with the girls:

Anna looking all beautiful and waiting to proceed to the ceremony:

Jonathan and Anna look so happy and can't wait for the ceremony to start!

Respecting tradition. I love it.

Anna looking all pretty again. She's good at that.

She's also really good at making the most animated facial expressions. hahaha. I could probably fill an entire blog post just on her vast array of expressions.

The cute couple!

Thank goodness it wasn't -10.

Anna's mom and aunt made the cake, including these sugar flowers too! wow!

Enjoying the reception

First dance was amazing. Ballroom dance skills galore! (It was brutal trying to keep up with them!)

Then on to a truly fantastic Ukrainian dance performance! whoa!

Again, Anna showing her expressive talents after shoving some cake into Jonathan's face. haha what a hoot!

Anna and Jonathan, we thank you for the great fun we had with you guys. I really enjoyed all the traditional elements and the modern day fun you guys managed to pull together into an amazing wedding! We really had a great time! Keep in touch!

Kat and Abe's amazing wedding!

I had the great fortune of shooting the wedding of my very dear and very close cousin, Katherine. She had looked for many photographers but in the end she chose me. I'll take that as a compliment!! =)

We were born in the same year so I have been a nuisance in her life from day 1. Hahahaha. Here is a picture of us from the good 'ol 70's! From left to right is my sister Juliette, me, and then Katherine:

So Merry and I flew out to Vancouver for the family wedding, but we left the black suit and dress at home, because this time we were working! It was pouring when we arrived. The day of the wedding it cleared up! Then it poured the day after. PERFECT timing!

We went to my cousin Laura's place where the hairdressers and makeup artist came to. Here is Katherine getting all pretty!

Arriving with Ann at the church:

Here is my Auntie waiting for the processional to start:

My cousin Laura at the ceremony:

Unity Candle!

They're married!

Enjoying the beautiful fall day.

Kat and Abe... so cute together!

Navigating the terrain at Queen E. park.

Henry 1, Henry 2, and Willard (in no particular order) having a laugh. (You guys can decide who is Henry 1 and who is 2)

Then we went to a gorgeous Golf club in Coquitlam for the second reception of the day. Of course, you can't go to a golf club and NOT ride a golf cart!!

The decor and hall were beautiful.

Lots of joy

Lots of laughs

We had such a great time at your wedding, and visiting! Katherine, you are one of the sweetest most genuine and caring people on earth. Abe, it's a good thing you are such a great guy too. Otherwise, Paul and I would have to beat you up. hahaha joking. But seriously, we're thrilled for you. Congratulations again!
