Awesome cards

Ok, I've been really bad and haven't updated this blog in a while. Sorry to all regular visitors... But wedding season will start soon so it should be better in the upcoming weeks!

In the meantime, I got two AWESOME thank-you cards in the mail at about the same time! They rock because they are handmade, custom cards. The first one is from my cousin, Katherine! She has always made great cards, even when she was a little kid. I always love getting birthday cards from her! This card is a thank you for shooting her engagement with Abe.

The next thank you card is from a former bride I photographed named Andra. If there's one thing I remember from that day is that the decor and table decorations were just fantastic! She really has a talent for anything wedding related, which is why she ended up starting her own company called Epiphany Designs.

So if you are like me and like things to look and feel custom, definitely check out her site if you are looking for beautiful handmade cards, invites, and many other things. The 'personal touch' really shines through on her work!

Birthday Double Header!

It was a double header weekend. Merry's grandma's 90th birthday party/family reunion and my dad's 65th birthday! Whew, what a busy weekend!

The long weekend started in Raymond, AB, where Merry's grandma lives. They rented a hall for the event, which was really cool as it was the shape of a barn:

Merry hanging out with the birthday girl!

About 60 family members showed up for the event from all over... ranging from Nevada and even from Alaska!

I had a ton of fun. It's so wonderful to meet up with, catch up and visit with others who you haven't seen in a while. Food was great and activities were fun. (Cemeteries seemed to be the theme du jour...) =)

And then we met up with mom, dad, noon, Fred, and Lauren for my dad's birthday! Noon made him this amazing card!

Now we're home and recovering from the weekend. Thanks to all for the fun we've had!

Vancouver E-shoot with Katherine and Abe

Went all the way to Vancouver and got to do an awesome E-shoot with Katherine and Abe! It was actually sunny that day even though the forecast called for rain (typical Vancouver). Actually, TOO sunny in fact for the comfort of many photographers.

But we took on the super bright afternoon sun and had a TON of fun at a few locations around Vancouver. We started at Queen E gardens and eventually ended up on a beach, and then dined on sushi afterwards with the rest of the family!

They were such good sports to sit on the somewhat damp grass...

Sharing a moment at the duck pond, where Abe proposed to Katherine.

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom festival was in progress! After some driving, Abe and Katherine found a few beautiful trees in full bloom on a residential street.

Hanging out by the water enjoying the sun.

Aren't they so cute together? =)

So Merry and I had a TON of fun!! Katherine, we thank you for driving us all around Vancouver, giving us a shopping tour, Laura and Thomas for taking us out to dinner and showing us your new house, and of course, Samchoon and Sookmo for letting us stay at your place and feeding us like crazy! We can't wait for the wedding in October!
